Getting Started

In this guide, we’ll show you how to get started trading on Kollider.

Please keep in mind that Kollider is still under development. Please begin with small amounts and trade prudently— leveraged trading carries the possibility of loss, so you must use the product at your own risk.

If you have questions or need support, please contact our team on Telegram or make a feature request.

Step 1: Choose Your Interface#

There are two main portals to trade on Kollider. Kollider Lite aims to reduce extraneous information that beginners would mostly find confusing. It’s complete on its own for trading and works well for doing directional trading, anything that holds positions longer, or strategies that don’t require very active management of orders.

For those who frequently place and amend limit orders, Kollider Pro is likely a better choice, as it gives more granular control and price information that first-time users aren’t necessarily interested in seeing. We recommend Kollider Pro for more advanced users looking to take advantage of Kollider’s full suite of features.

Step 2: Create Your Account#

Once you’ve chosen which version of Kollider you want to use (side note: you can use both Lite and Pro to access the same account), you need to create an account to login.

There are two ways to login to Kollider.

  1. Lightning Login

Lightning Login (also known as LNURL-auth) is a novel solution that allows you to use compatible Lightning wallets to login to applications. You simply scan (or in the case of a browser extension, click) a QR code and authenticate the application using your wallet.

When you login with Lightning, an account is automatically created for you. Lightning Login is by far the easiest way to sign into an account.

You can learn more about LNURL-auth and how it works here. Supported wallets include Breez, BlueWallet, Alby, Blixt, and more.

Click “Login” or “Register” in the top right corner, agree to the terms of service and privacy policy, then click “Lightning Sign In.” From there you’ll be given a QR code that will allow you to create an account and login at the same time.

  1. Login with Credentials

Kollider also supports login with credentials. You can use an email address and password to create an account.

Simply click “register” in the top right corner of the site, and then enter your information. Once you confirm your email address, your account is created.

Step 3: Fund Your Account#

One of the best features of Kollider is that you don’t need to pre-fund your account. While other exchanges require you to make deposits in advance and wait for those deposits to confirm before making a trade, Kollider’s use of the Lightning Network means you can initiate trades directly from your wallet.

The deposit occurs at the exact same time that the position is opened, and there’s no need to deposit more than the exact amount you’re looking to trade.

If you choose not to trade directly from your Lightning wallet, Kollider also supports on-chain Bitcoin deposits.

To deposit on-chain, navigate to “Dashboard” in the top right corner, and then click “Wallet.” There you’ll see the option to deposit using Bitcoin.

Step 4: Begin Trading#

Now you're ready to execute your first trades!
